What impact has the NWTF made in Wisconsin?
The NWTF has been a leading force for wildlife conservation and the preservation of our hunting heritage in Wisconsin. Every chapter banquet directly fuels that mission — funds raised through membership and ticket sales support habitat projects, hunter education, and conservation programs that keep our wild turkey populations thriving for generations to come. Your attendance makes all the difference.
Other Notable Wisconsin Achievements
Wisconsin DNR Wild Turkey Research Partnership
The state chapter partnered with the Wisconsin DNR on continuing wild turkey research efforts for the second consecutive year. This research uses GPS transmitters and wing tags to identify individual birds using the Snapshot Wisconsin Program to test the trail camera program in estimating poult-to-hen ratios and other recruitment metrics, as well as movements of individual birds.
Dunnville Wildlife Area Habitat Restoration
The state chapter partnered with Wisconsin DNR to restore 1,100 acres of turkey habitat on Dunnville Wildlife Area in Dunn County, contributing to more than 12,000 impacted acres across the state in FY25.
Midwest Outdoor Heritage Education Expo Support
NWTF Wisconsin continues its support of the Midwest Outdoor Heritage Education Expo (MOHEE), which hosted 4,265 youth and chaperones and gave students hands-on experiences with outdoor activities including turkey calling, archery and wildlife management education.
High School Trap and Archery Team Support
The Wisconsin State Chapter provided over $25,000 in support to high school trap and archery teams via revenues generated from the state raffle.
